raincast

Privacy, on one screen

If a weather app is free and full of ads, you are the product. Raincast is one month free, then $0.99 a month or $7.99 a year — paid by subscribers, not advertisers — precisely so this page can stay short.

Ads: none, ever

No ads in the app, on this site or in the alerts. No ad SDKs, no data brokers, no trackers. Pricing is the whole business model. Subscriptions are billed by Google Play (the App Store later); your card details never reach us.

Signing in

Email magic-link only. No passwords to leak, no Google/Facebook sign-in, no third-party identity providers.

What we store

The complete list:

That's it. There is no "and related data" clause.

The Google Play listing's Data safety section mirrors this list (the push token is declared there). A small team dashboard shows usage counts and the alerts the system sent; it never shows your location, and your email is shown to the team only on a deliberate, logged lookup.

Address search on this site

When you type an address into the home-page search, your browser sends the text you typed (and, as with any web request, your IP address) directly to OpenStreetMap Nominatim to turn it into coordinates — see theOSMF privacy policy. The query goes straight from your browser to them, is not linked to any account, and we never see or store it.

What we never do

Where

All data lives in the EU (Azure, North Europe region — Dublin, fittingly). It does not leave the EU.

Deletion

One tap in the app deletes your account and everything above — email, locations, thresholds, push tokens — immediately. No exit interview, no 30-day "processing".

Questions or GDPR requests: the contact address ships with the app beta. Raincast is an idealab.ai studio venture, based in the EU.
